Privacy Policy

Battleground Duos ("we", "us", "our") operates the Battleground Duos website. This page explains what information we collect, why, and what rights you have.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the minimum data needed to run the service:
- Battle.net account info — When you sign in with Battle.net, we receive your BattleTag and a unique account ID from Blizzard. We never see or store your Battle.net password.
- Profile data you provide — Region, MMR rating, play style, availability, Discord tag, and voice chat preference. All optional.
- Chat messages — Messages you send to other users through our chat system are stored so both participants can read them.
- Activity timestamps — We record when you were last active on the site to show online/offline status and when your account was created.
2. What We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your email address
- We do not collect your real name
- We do not use cookies for advertising or tracking
- We do not use any third-party analytics services
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone
3. How We Use Your Data
- Display your profile on the duo board so other players can find you
- Show your online status to other users
- Deliver chat messages between you and other users
- Enforce blocks between users
- Display live activity on the site (e.g., "3 players looking for a duo")
4. Cookies & Authentication
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. This cookie contains a signed JWT (JSON Web Token) with your account identifier — no personal information. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party cookies.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored in our database and protected with encryption in transit (HTTPS). We use Battle.net OAuth for authentication so we never handle your Blizzard password. API endpoints are rate-limited and access-controlled to prevent abuse.
6. Data Retention
Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. If you want your data deleted, contact us (see below) and we will permanently remove your account and all associated data including messages, conversations, and duo/chat requests.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — View all data we have about you (visible on your profile page)
- Correct — Update your profile information at any time
- Delete — Request complete deletion of your account and all associated data
- Block — Block any user to prevent them from seeing you or messaging you
8. Children
Battleground Duos is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will remove it.
9. Third-Party Services
The only third-party service we integrate with is Blizzard Battle.net OAuth for sign-in. When you click "Sign in with Battle.net", you are redirected to Blizzard's servers. Their use of your data is governed by Blizzard's Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
11. Contact
If you have questions about this policy, want your data deleted, or need to report an issue, reach out to us on the site or via Discord.
